What a perfect day to take a boat ride! You will see not one but several different sandbars on this tour! It will only take 25 minutes to get there on our epic adventure, and we can stop as long as you want at those sandbars that interest you the most. This is something you cannot miss!

Experience the mangrove trails of Mud Keys and hang out with locals at Snipe Point after. You won't want the day to end.

Why take this tour?

The mangrove trails at Mud Keys and the sandbar at Snipe Point--things can't get any better than this! The itinerary is ultimately affected by both the booked trip length as well as the season and weather conditions. Generally, we start the trip by taking a 30-minute boat ride from our marina. First, you'll love seeing the crystal clear Jewish Basin sandbars, where it's shallow enough to enjoy the water and ankle-deep at most. Following that, we'll cruise through the beautiful mud keys before spending a majority of our free time at Snipe Point, the locals' favorite sandbar. Finally, we're going back to the marina feeling fantastic after a day well spent.

Frequently asked questions

Are we guaranteed to go to all destinations mentioned in the itinerary?

Unfortunately not. All trips are weather permitting and sometimes the itinerary would need to be modified so we can avoid rough and choppy waters.

Is Snipe Point accessible in any weather conditions?

Because to get to Snipes we have to run in deeper gulf waters, this sandbar is not accessible during days of N, NW and NE winds. If we can’t get you there, we would offer to modify your itinerary so you would still have a very enjoyable boat tour.

What is the difference between the 3 hour and 4 hour sandbar hopping trip?

On the 4 hours trip you get more time to relax and enjoy sandbar stops.

Are we going to have the sandbars all to ourselves?

Usually not. There’s only a handful of these gorgeous destinations so they are often visited by local boat owners. The traffic is usually higher during weekends and holidays. The 3-hour trip goes to sandbars that are a little closer to Key West like Jewfish Sandbar and Mud Key. The 4-hour trip adds Snipe Point to the list.

Cancellations

48hrs before the scheduled boat trip to get a full refund if you happen to change your plans. All our trips are weather permitting so we reserve the right to cancel your trip if we don’t think that conditions are safe – in this case you would get full refund also.

Bathrooms

It has a flushable marine toilet for liquids only. The boat also has fresh water rinse so you can rinse yourself from salt water.

Add 1 Hour

Add an additional hour to this tour for $100. This extra time allows for more time to relax at each sandbar!

To start we had called after a bad experience with a another boat rental service. Determined to have a good time and see the sights my fiancee and I called on a whim, we spoke to Pavel who was Amazing. He sent us over to his website and after we booked he sent us some directions and followed up to confirm. Pavel was incredibly nice and had us over to our boat captain quickly. We met captain scruffy who was also equally amazing. He had a fully stocked cooler with ice and music ready to go. He took us out to 2 amazing local sandbar which we loved, the boat ride out was so smooth and quick! We spent some time out on the sandbars swimming and our captain even took amazing photos for us at no extra cost. Captain scruffy had us out on the water for an amazing time and experience my fiance will never forget. If you're looking for a boat charter and to see some amazing sights and meet some amazing people, call Pavel and ask for Captain Scruffy. You won't be disappointed !

We took a sandbar tour on 7/8/21 with Captain Turtle and had an amazing time. Key West Boat Tours accommodated us with short notice after our boat tour with another company was cancelled for bad weather. Everything happens for a reason right? We loved our boat trip with Captain Turtle. He was great with my kids and very knowledgeable about the water and wildlife. The mud keys we super interesting! We will be back! Highly recommend!

We took a sandbar tour with Captain Turtle, and it was the highlight of our trip! Captain Turtle was awesome. The boat was nice and clean, and a great size for our family of 4. We loved getting out on the water and seeing all of the gorgeous water. The ride was really smooth. We stopped at the Mud Keys and then Snipes Point. Snipes was our absolute favorite. Crystal clear water in a 360 view. Pictures don’t do it justice. If we return to Key West I’d do this trip every day! I highly recommend this as a way to get out on the water.

Had an absolute blast on the boat with a couple friends and was able to hit a few awesome spots. Great sandbars to check out and an incredible sunset to top it off. Capt. Turtle was great. We had a lot of fun with him and he was very accommodating and flexible for the group. I would definitely recommend this group to anyone looking to explore some unique areas and catch a sunset out on the water.

Had a great day on the boat with Pavel yesterday. He was very accommodating and helped us schedule last minute to have a Saturday afternoon out on the water. He took us to really picturesque Mud Key where we were able to swim and explore before giving the option for us to extend our trip and go to the Sandbar which was just as cool and an amazing time. The boat was super clean and fun to cruise around on a nice day in key west. We will 100% be having another boat day through these guys and would recommend to anyone looking for a fun day out on the water with a knowledgeable and cool captain.
